Re: North Carolina and Duke
Hansbrough gets away with more walks than Shane Battier did flops (God, I never thought I'd say that). Like I said to ignore how much Hansbrough walks is just being a blind homer. The amount of acting that goes on by him and Greg Paulus is really comical as well, they just throw their arms up and get fouls called. Paulus falls down 90% of the time he shoots the ball or a man is within 2 feet of him going for a shot on the defensive end, Hasnbrough just throws his arms when there is contact (over exaggerating the whole thing) and the ref toots on the whistle and puts him on the line. I don't see either of the teams really having a legit shot of winning it all, UNC plays no defense and Duke is not going to shoot lights out from downtown 6 games in a row. Not sure if anyone has brought this up yet but UNC could be in a three way tie for 2nd come Sunday Night if they lose to Clemson.

Finally--Battier's off the hook from Double D...
And as for Paulus acting, I've seen Stevie Franchise and Juan Dixon do the same thing...no room to talk my friend!
Re: North Carolina and Duke
Hansbrough does travel alot. Not everytime he touches the ball, but he does tend to take a few more steps than allowed from time to time. I guess he gets that "special" treatment because of where our program is. When your program gets to the level where the Heels are then Im sure you might get that "special" treatment too.
Funny thing is that if he played for anyone elses team with the passion and heart he plays for the Heels, we wouldnt be having this conversation. Everyone in this thread that has talked [censored] about would love to have him on their team. he would help you all out alot. I guess its good to be hated. I guess thats what happens when you're good.
One more thing on the game. Duke was better than us on that night. Lawson or not. We didnt defend and we didnt make our shots. It doesnt matter where we finish in the regular season as long as we are there in March to have a chance to play our way to the Final Four then Im fine.

Dude--do you know how many times I cussed Josh McRoberts after a dunk or something "good" he did, when it simply was the wrong thing to do with the basketball? I yell at Demarcus Nelson thru the TV everytime he dribbles into a triple-team in the middle of the lane, regardless of if he makes it or not--because it's bad basketball.
The hatred for "Psycho-T" (the nickname, btw, is another reason to hate Baby Huey) stems from him playing as if he has never been taught how to play basketball at any time in his life, getting away with over-the-back & loose ball fouls on the inside because "he's working hard to rebound". The bull-in-a-china-shop school of bball in the paint is what upsets a lot of people, and the fact that he gets away with it upsets people even further.
I can honestly say if he played for Duke that I'd say the same thing 100%. He would be, by far, my least favorite Duke player ever. Just like I silently rooted for Dante Calabria and Ed Cota when they played for UNC b/c I liked their games, there have been Duke players I haven't liked b/c of their game. Cherokee Parks and Jeff Capel come to mind right off the bat.
Re: North Carolina and Duke
Honest to God, and I'm not just saying this I'll take Maryland's big men over Hansbrough.

Juan Dixon never behaved like Shane Battier, never. Dixon played most of his D on the permiter while a good defender he didn't need to fall down 10 times a game to get his numbers. I wish they'd cut down on all these charge calls, it's dumb to be on a fast break and just have some guy fall down (instead of really trying to play D). I've seen Paulus fall down without anybody even being hear him. I don't think you ever saw Juan Dixon falling down on every jumper he took either.
Re: North Carolina and Duke
I wasn't comparing Battier to either Dixon/Franchise. Dixon did some acting--he didn't do it a whole lot, but when he did--it was laughable.
Like how you disavowed any knowledge of Franchise doing that stuff...
Re: North Carolina and Duke
I can't believe I am saying this without puking but I would take Jeff Allen from VT over hansbrough.
Re: North Carolina and Duke
Haha he was only there one year he couldn't have done alot. Wanna talk about the flop Paulus displayed in last years NCAA Tournament? I'm not sure I've ever seen another player do that.
Re: North Carolina and Duke
To the comment about TH not knowing how to play
well how do you be an "All-American" 3 times and not know how to play....the guy averages a double-double, you gotta know how to play if you can do that
